I was just thinking the same thing... it looks to me like the holster was riveted correct then the ammo boxes/drop boxes were fixed to what should be the inside ?? Also was this the belt from the tantive scenes im sure theres a trooper there with the holster fixed like this ??? EDIT: i think it might be this one....looks like it to me! | Great referance shot there Rob , i just love the fact that the tabs of the holster are on the out side of the belt as the trooper is wearing it , and not standerd tabs on the inside of the of the belt , dont you just luv spoting these findings

| Awesome pics and great that bits are being tied to "seen" items. Sorry if this has been asked before ( i've been meaning to ask myself after noticing it in the film a while ago ) but WTF is with the shape of that holster? | |

Kinda looks to me like a chopped down holster they used in WW2 to carry rifles on m/cycles etc... i thought the well used "cut out in the middle" style was screen accurate or were there a few diff types ???

| That Paul has a great eye. No shoulder straps the strange zig-zag on the hand guards the two right for arms (so im guessing duplicate biceps as well.)
Their is one thing it looks like it has centre Ab buttons? can you post the original picture please mark ?

| So if this is the painted black part it is not as the picture caption suggests "talking to fans on location" it is infact in the back garden or just round the local Neighbourhood of who ever took it off set, a sort of look what my dads got !
So we now know that its 14 stripes ,on the left hand side and there is one black tab to the rear of the ear.

| Stefan Sorry fella I really don't know where you are coming from.Mark posted up a picture that as been avalable to EVERYONE for years and Paul as revisted and possibly identified certain 'tells' that indentify it as possibly being Simon's suit. I can't see any problem in that mate. Bringing it to the attention of Simon as got to be a good thing surely, it would be just another piece in the puzzle if it turns out to be true. As for not showing Paul respect, mate....look at the membership on this site its made up of more then an high percentage of TM owners....what does that say to you? | |

| It certainly is a good find that picture, but the black that's on the ab section was painted on by me when i was a kid. If I remember correctly the paint on the ab section used to be grey. I guess we'll never know for sure unless someone knows a way of getting black gloss paint off and still leaving the original paint! | |

There are methods to removing paint one layer at a time, but they are incredibly expensive and are rare outside of a major auto collecting centers like Detroit, L.A., Ft.Lauterdale.

Lets not talk about removing any more paint off this suit shall we.I think its had enough layers of history lost forever.

Does this mean that this suit was indeed painted white? I.e. not just the helmet but the armour?

| Yes the suit was painted white were they not originally? i have been told that they had just the plastic finish. Its a bit hard to tell with this one. | |

That's what I was hoping to find out. I don't think anyone has confirmed for certain. When I look at the original Star Wars film, I think I see some suits which are definitely not painted. But I also see some which look very glossy and white as if they have been painted. When I was deciding whether to paint my own suit, I looked at the photos of your suit and saw a paint run on the inside of the neck and decided that was evidence enough for me to go ahead. So, you aren't sure whether the suit was painted for the film or afterwards then?
