| I picked up a TK4510 assembled TE2 off the bay earlier today and would like to do a HDPE effect paint scheme on it. So I've been looking around for a paint that would give a good match and I can't find one that gives a nice match and is still in production. Anyone got any suggestions? | |

| Yeah... this is a good question.
Maybe someone knows what pantone number to match the paint to?
Thx Saludos... | |

| I took the helmet apart to repair some cracks but whilst I was there I thought I tested a small area of the inside of of the cap with Rustoleum's fossil, it's not looking to bad so far but I think it is too green and not enough brown.
It would be nice to get pantone numbers for both the light and dark green 'HDPE' colours though.

| Getting pantone numbers for that would be impossible without an original helmet to match it with. | |

| Cheers Rob. Tried a few colours and Tamiya XF-60/Humbrol 84 both looked pretty good but still lack the green tinge is too dark on matte HIPS. I'll probably end up doing the exposed areas in a custom mix. | |

| Well, I've done a bit more work on this now and I think Citadel's Gretchin Green is a good match for the darker colour. Just add in a bit of the Tamiya clear gloss to prevent it from being super-matte. I decided that I might as well stay with the Rustoleum for the lighter colour as in the flesh over a yellow base coat it looks pretty close but it is a pain to photograph. | |

| I had a go at this recently , I used a spray paint colour called buckskin tan , with a light green dusted over the top and a hevery dusting on the back piece because it seems that most of the trooper lids the too pieces differ slightly in colour, I intentionally used some thing that had a bit of sheen to it to give it that slippery look that the raw SiMan has
my pics didnt load, but its the helmet in my avitar
