| Yer no probs mate the thickness of the helmet is .060 Gauge which is quite thin the overall pull of the lid is quite sharp apart from the traps which imho are quite soft , buitifull pull on the vocoder very sharp , and the main thing that i wanted was the bumps all over the cap and the face plate and also there is a greeny look to the HDPE aswell . | |

| I can't believe you bought a V Gina! Looks like a cracking helmet though, mate. Close to the right shade of plastic. Be nice to see how this turns out when painted. If it were mine, I'd be tempted to use the same sort of primer and just try and do the paint job as nicely as possible .... then watch as it falls off randomly! | |

| Cool build. The thing I find funny is whenever you take pics of these the color comes out differently. I have mine assembled ready for paint. I love working with HDPE,it's so flexible and you can really bend it around during assembly without worrying about fracturing it.

| I thought the red paint inside the helmet was a red primer over spray from the outside? | |

| Yes i would - the primer would really of only been on the outside - the red on the inside is from overspray.. the same as with the white | |

| Danger Danger Danger,Krylon Fusion does not like any other brand paint. It will bubble and Fish scale like crazy. It acts the same with greasy finger prints or plastic that has not been washed properly.
You need flat/Matt red Krylon Fusion to simulate the primmer.
The reason i mentioned Krylon in the first place was you were looking for a paint that did not need primmer. If you are now going to prime the lid just go for red primmer and Halfords Appliance white and put the Krylon in the shed for another project.

| Thanks for that Doc , imoprtent to know that Krylon will have reaction with other brand , well now i have dicided to go with simulating the flat red Krylon for the primer , because thats what i orderd today with 2 cans of Krylon Fusion Gloss white just waiting for them to arive in the next couple of days | |
