| Nice comparison! I think that I actually like the look of the TM a little better here... | |

| Without a doubt the TM looks better in my mind- much sharper and, to me, more accurate- but that may have something to do with me being a TM fan! | |

| All my TMs have been slightly bigger all round than the other helmets (ATA & AP) I have owned. That's why (with my big head) I will always troop in my TM. Looking at the comparison pictures with the TM next to the original SiMan helmet, it actually seems the TM is closer to the correct size. So what do we put that down to. Stuff like the Gina, ATA and AP are all supposedly casts from originals so is it shrinkage involved in the whole casting process? | |

| neither AP nor ATA are direct casts of an original. AP is at least one generation down, same goes for ATA (it's a third (fourth) gen cast - it's cast of a CAP, which is cast of a TE (which is cast of the real deal)). If you use the wrong stuff, shrinkage can be massive here! I guess Gino recast his own moulds for every version offered, so there ought to be a little shrinkage (or even a lot, depending on the process and materials used). Also his moulds were a copy of TEs moulds in the first place, and although he claims he used "high quality casting materials with no shrinkage at all" we can't be sure of that. Pictures show it's a lot smaller than other casts, which would be odd if his moulds were untouched and first gen. But hey, what do I know?

| I agree with Dan.
I made a comparison between an HIPS Gino's helmet, a CAP W helmet and a TE2 lid.
Gino's helmet is the smallest!

It's quite striking how much more detail you get out of the thinner material. Here's a comparison shot of my two TM helmets. Look at the areas around the frown and the vocoder. Left: 1mm Right: 2mm
