Grab yourself some cheap news paper and rub it hard on your lid and armour so the ink comes off,you get some very good results.Looking good so far.

What you get is a very fine layer of grim and if you screw the paper up and rub you will get scratch lines.

Thanks, I already tried the newspaper thing and it did not really show up all that much...might try again with cheaper paper with ink that comes off easier.

Inspired by the latest awesome SFS replica thread, I went back and snapped a couple of pics of my own humble replica attempt.

Just fell in love with your helmet, Blimy don't get to say that every day.Just had a think about what i just said,and i stand by the words i have used.very nice ,One of the most accurate looking lids i have seen to date.Not just the chips and weathering but the way its been put together.the brow is spot on even the ear trimming and angle.
