| So i got an ATA ABS kit, with 2 helmets, 2 belt fronts and both ANH and ESB hand plates. This kit will be a "switchy" so i can troop ANH or ESb depending on my mood. So I just started a little bit on the kit today. I know, its not much, but figured id show something! I decided to start on one of the helmets first. Heres the rough fit of what will be the ANH helmet. I havent trimmed out the ears yet. Its being held together with magnets. But so far, so good. @Moonwalker: The brow trim is the correct size. Looks exactly the same as my TE2. Must be the camera playing tricks! | |

| Maybe it's that way because ATA tends to be a lot smaller than other TE-copies? Just a thought. | |

| Thanks Mark! Heres some more pics for the helmet done. Although this is an ABS kit, i am still going to paint it to give it a more accurate look. I went with the ABS for the durability factor. So here it is: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Heres some comparison shots next to my TE2: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Its a little hard to tell because i assembled them differently, as the TE2 has its cap and back tilted more back for the "move along Sandtrooper look, but the TE2 is a tad bigger, not by much..but it is bigger. | |

| The TE certainly looks bigger in those pics. ABS really is sturdy, how thick is the ATA material? 1mm or more? | |

| Yea it is bigger, but really not by much. If i measure it, most of the measurements are the same, or off by very very little. The tilted cap n back makes it look taller in the front, but its not if you measure the edge of the cap from the brow to the back to the bottom of the traps
ATA ABS is 0.90 i think, not sure what that is in MM. This particular helmet is a "b" grade. It has a few thinner spots, but not bad at all. Once assembled its pretty sturdy. This is my 4th TK kit im buiding. My forst was an FX with an AP "b" grade helmet. Second was the Full AP using the b grade helmet i all ready had. Third was my TE2 Sandy. Id say the ATA ABS is just a Tad thinner than the AP kit. I like the detail on the ABS ATA as well, very close to the HIPS TE2. The ATA helmet id say is my second fave, only to the TE2. Seems like the ATA helmet is close in size to the AP helmet. I really like this kit so far. | |

| The ATA ABS helmets are 80 gauge which is about 2mm. The build looks great Lou. | |

| Did a little more work tonight. I wet sanded the helmet with 400grit sandpaper to allow the paint to stick better and then sprayed a few coats of gloss white Krylon Fusion for plastic. Pretty much emptied the can. I then hand painted the frown, ear rectangles and traps with testors grey #1138. Tomorrow i will do the black trim on the traps and ears, paint the vocoder, and put the brow back on. Heres what it looks like now.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Thanks Mark! Ok so i finished the ANH bucket..less the tube stripes(which ill order soon) and the neck trim which ATA will send as soon as he has it in stock again. I did the trim with a deco color paint marker. I did the vocoder with black enamel paint with a "filbert" brush. It has a curved top. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here is the helmet... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]My Cat Diego likes it also! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Ill likely start on the ESB helmet this weekend. Stay tuned! | |

| Yes I noticed the same as Dennis the traps under the eyes could be bigger. Also for the rear traps I would make the black lines shorter by painting grey over the top of them, at the top. Maybe by 5mm or so.. Looking very nice though | |
