| There are so many different kinds available out there and it seems there were two versions in ANH, Stunt and Hero. The Stunt as I understand was a divers neckseal and the hero was purpose built. I have never seen close-up detailed pics of the rubber neckseal has anyone got any? Did they vary much from movie to movie? | |

| Here is what Brinn 71 had to say on the issue over at SWH. "Neck seal- a basic dark brown dickie. It covered the neck like a turtleneck and was slightly ribbed, and came down the front and tied under the arms. For Han and Luke, rubber ones were made special. Mine was a little faded, so maybe a wine or brown colour is more accurate." Matt G claimed the ones in ROTJ were "scarlet / red / crimson" I also red an extra saying he remembered them being on the burgandy colour spectrum. Sorry I've no pic's. | |

| I'm sure we've all seen these but it does show the differences between Hero/stunt in ANH. I'm not convinced it's diving related unless I see much much better proof than whats publically been shown. ps I am working on a new hero version, but don't think that helps your original question. | |

| I was'nt sure where to post this as I did'nt want to derail the thread. Here's two styles that I've been experimenting with over the last few month's, in between all the other stuff thats been getting in the way. it's just the nine base ribs so far. but it's uber light & soft & very flexable. Here's an completly different build/materials style. TBH their just WIP's & if I can't pin them down to screen acurate I won't bother. | |

| Both of those look great- I hope yyou persevere with this as there is a distinct lack of decent neckseals available- Last night Billy and I were helping a guy order some stuff to get started and the neckseal is a real sticking point, needless to say your name came up | |

| Certainly looks interesting Steve Feel free to start your own wip thread or continue in here... Are these new versions any different to the hero style seals you produced a couple of years ago? | |

| Thanks guy's,
@ Mark, No these are very removed from the last batch, I was happy at the time with the last lot based on screen caps at the time but always knew the were way off canon in many respects.
TBH The pic's don't do the test wip's justice really, I am & have been waiting for two month now for better material coming in from india.
Hopefully good things come to those who wait but at $200 a square meter it better be a good thing.

| After a 2-3 month wait my small amount of costly material finally made it's way from India. It's difficult to take a good pic but it's as close to the material & the way it behaves on screen that I've been able to find after a long search & spending "loads o' money" in R&D. Thats for the Harry Henfield fans under different lighting conditions it changes from lookinging black, or waxy, or shiny or Matt or Purply or bluey or greyey, it's interesting stuff none the less. after my iminent house move I'll get cracking on it. day light Digital Flash indoor no flash | |

| Hm, I'm shopping around for my last few bits and bobs. This is pretty much the last bit I still need to get. Billy gave me a couple of links to places that would buy neck seals that would do, but if you were going to buy one right now, where would you get yours? | |

| I got my neckseal from TK409 and it's really conmfortable, but maybe not as accurate as other offering out there, like Rivetings neckseals. | |

Collin,(Vader) is making some as we speak.Luke style from Anorak material. They move just like Luke and Hans do.The saturday gang have been talking about they were not leather for six month or so and he is finally going into production after about 100 prototypes.Ask Gary for hes details and im sure you can have the first one.We are all going to have one off our old buddy as they look good plus he has worked hard on them.

| thanks Billy I'm just waiting for the right kind of rib support as I'm not 100% on the stuff I'm using as the weave it has tends to come through the material, but anyhow enough of my prob's I'm still sourcing the right parts, which in NZ is a full time occupation more progress hopefully within the nxt week | |

| I refused to sell my original Riveting neck seal with my TK. It's one of the leather ones and is very comfy. Looks like I'll be keeping an eye out for an upgrade. | |
