ANH cover strips - how do you have yours?

Ok so there are basically 3 ways of trimming these - straight cut, rounded or at 45' corner cut.

Ive built suits using all of these ways - which way do you prefer and why?

45° or near enough, just snip the corners off and jobs a good 'un [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I cut them at the angle and then rounded the corners slightly so I am either best of both worlds or wrong on both counts.

I made most of mine like a mix between the two, cut at roughly 45 degrees and smoothed it out afterwards.

Cut then sanded round as my OCD will not let me have sharp edges,I even have to sand my tab corners.

lol.. ditto this one..

I always round my snap tabs too - gotta look neat and tidy for the boss

My snap tabs are rougher than my cover strips. :p
Cut at 45 degree angles as well.

Much sloppier than that!

I have mine cut at 45° angles an then slightly sanded them, ever so slightly rounded. Like a more "worn" appearance.

I like em rounded..it just looks neater to me that way.

I think both styles were used: the "cardboard stormtrooper standee" picture (that hi-res promo trooper shot we all have) shows round, angular and just plain 90° uncut edges, all on one suit.

Are these styles usually mix-and-match on the same set of armour, or is that the exception? Ta!

Pretty much mix um up. I would guess all the suits would be mixed up with the actors wearing abc shins and legs coupled with xyz torso on one day, followed by aei legs, with rst legs and omg torso the next.

I would pick a style you like and follow throughout a build unless you can live with a random mix

I do all mine joining strips whit the cut corners:

I've been thinking about the shape of the end of the cover strips for ages and I'm so glad to find this topic. The benefit of taking the road less travelled!

I like lightly rounded edges personally ;-)

I did mine the way I would have done it had I been one of the original prob builders with no reference.

Lightly rounded edges. Could have never left them unfinished, I blame the Anal retentiveness that runs in my family....
